I apologize for the lousy post. I was in a panic with a system down and no apparent earthly reason for it, and was trying to find quick answers for a problem I didn't understand.
I have a large and well-established database with 20 users in Access 2007. We have a few new computers on the system that have Office 2010 pre-loaded on them.
In the middle of the afternoon I suddenly got error messages popping up that said "Can not load DLL". Things were failing left and right and I was at a loss to figure out what was going on.
I hunted around the net looking for the cause of the error message and I found several that pointed to a conflict with Office 2010. In the code window of Access 2007 I clicked Tools>References and found the following. MISSING: Microsoft Word 14.0 Object Library.
Problem was, we had only been using the 12.0 Object Library (there are quite a few mail merge documents that are generated in Access and transferred to Word), and there had never been any issue. I was unable to click off the reference to the 14.0 Library and switch back. It would not allow the change.
I was able to get things operational again by switching to another copy of the database, but it took time just to figure out up from down when an unexpected issue just develops.
I still don't understand why the call for the 14.0 library appeared, or what might cause it to reappear in the new working copy. Any assistance in fully understanding what's going on will be appreciated.
