I have a technical friend that sends me emails with in-line graphics.

Here's the problem, the emails only contain the frame for the graphics and a box with a X indicating where the graphic should be.

Any other emails I receive with graphics from anyone else are fine. However, Murphy's law, since this is a technical friend, these emails are more important than all the junk stuff I receive.

I use Outlook 2000 SR-1, I believe the friend uses Outlook Express.

Any idea what's going on? The friend says no one else has complained?? I'm stumped.

TIA

You stated that you are able to view other graphics in your email client so I need to ask.........

In which format (.bmp,.jpg,.psd,etc) are the graphics compiled?

Perhaps you do not have the proper decoder, or possibly a file association has gone awry.

You should be able to save the graphic separately from the email regardless of being inline or maybe if the email is compiled as HTML, save it as HTML which should save an .html file and a folder containing any inline graphics. Look for the graphic and try to open it using another application.

FYI, Irfanview, a freeware, is capable of decoding many formats.

This is still driving me nuts!

No one that received emails with these graphics can see them when they come from this one friend.

I did try to save them as an html file, but any there were no graphics saved.

I believe she uses Outlook, which is what I am also using. Does this have anything to do with whether or not she has marked: Tool | Options | Mail Format | HTML | (HTML) Settings | Send pictures from the Internet with messages ??

Still looking for answers as I don't get the 'jist of what is being sent without the graphics.

Thanks!
