Got a question in regards to sending miss typed e-mail address into a certain mailbox in exchange 5.5.

ex. Real address: user@domain.com
miss typed: usser@domain.com -> this needs to goto a mailbox where all miss typed e-mail address should go.

Does anyone know how to set this up?

you can set up an extra mailbox alongside the one which is in use. On exchange server - under e-mail addresses - add a new smtp address, but keep the current one as the reply address.

Sorry, I think I should have been clearer in my first post. Let me claify. I want the mailbox to get the mail for all miss typed e-mail addresses. So if someone somewhere trys to send an e-mail to any one of the 50 employees and accidently miss spells their e-mail, it will go into this mailbox which could be checked periodically.

In Exchange Admin on the server is a setting to send all undelivered mails to...set it there. Can't recall exact place as not got an Exchange 5.5 box nearby.

I can't find it in there.

Thanks anyway though.

You can set Notifications (on the Internet Mail tab of the IMS) to send the Admin mailbox a notification every time the system can't deliver an email because no mailbox matches the address, but I'm pretty sure the IMS still generates an NDR and sends it back regardless of this setting - you're simply switching on or off the notification of this NDR to the Admin mailbox.

In exchange admin - double click on the user name - now go to e-mail address tab - select new - other address - type in other e-mail address and type in SMTP as the e-mail type. Click ok. Now if anybody sends e-mail to either of the addresses it will get to this mailbox.

Hope this helps
