I have a Windows 2000 Server machine and want to mirror the system so if the hard drive crashes a secondary hard drive will kick in. I read that Windows 2000 has this feature built in.

Is using the Windows 2000 mirroring going to work? Is there a hardware solution I can use that will work better? Maybe some sort of RAID controller (eg:
Right now there is only the one hard drive with one partition for both OS and data.

Thanks for your help.

You should use hardware RAID if given the choice. I would recommend RAID 1 (mirroring) for the drives. Ideally, you would move the data to it's own RAID array if budget allows.
