Mirroring ports Catalyst 5500 1

Hi everyone,

I've just purchased a IDS system and the server needs to sit on a mirrored port on the network to monitor traffic. Can anyone help me/know how to create a mirrored port on a Catalyst 5500 switch?

You can monitor VLAN or ports.

To mirror/span VLAN 2 to port 3/1:
set span 2 3/1

You may want to look at the inpkts enable addition to the command.
