I have a NT server that has two drives and three partitions. I can mirror the second and third partition, but each time I mirror the boot partition, the server does its restart and then hangs at the logon or sometimes I can make it past the login.

If I let the server sit a few minutes, then it crashes and reboots when I touch any key on the keyboard. Everything works fine not matter what combination of the other two partitions - just the boot partition. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Never change two things at once :)

I think I figured out one of two things that did the trick.

1. Delete the \System\DISK key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2. unplugged the server from the network.

It is mirroring now and showing healthy in disk administrator.

I hope this helps someone - it has bugged me for days.

This occured after a mirrored drive failed (the mirror not the active) and we replaced the mirrored drive.
