Hi There:

I'm using a Miran 3 on a CS1K When you dial the Access code to listen to the recording you only get static. When I log in and check under Status in Admin, it shows that none of the ports are active. Does anyone know how to make them active??

Thanks!

you might want to start with a simple reset of the Miran Card. There is a reset button on the front. the LED display should read MRN3 if all is working correctly. Sometimes they just like to hose up and you need to kick them. If you go to support.avaya.com and search for CS1K documentation, there is a Miran book and that is how I learned to install. Was not difficult at all.

It installed just fine. Has been working for years and the system restarted and now it's not active. Checked the documentation on the Avaya Support site, but can't find anything that talks about the ports not being active.

Silly question, but have the keycodes been entered OK?. I usually use Telnet or the serial cable and do the following below.

Login and press "2 Pack Administration", followed by "2 Keycode Entry"

You should see something like..

[10206232] - Keycode Entry - [Admin]

Current Configuration

Version : 2.0.17 (Rls 4)
Internal Channels : 8
External Channels : 2
Keycode : 71621000 04057000 55221000

New Parameters

Keycode : -> <-

Also check that you can see the dongle ID at the top left hand side as it's possible for the dongle to become loose or even missing if the Miran card was recently changed out.

It's also possible to see if the keycode file is present from withing the command line programming

"2 Pack Administration" and "1 File Explorer"

Hi,

What is the display of the Miran card showing?

Marc D.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

If the configuration was never saved then that is your issue. Also if it was configured for DHCP and that is not available the card will never come up.

The front of the card says MRN3

That's what the display should show. Can you disable and enable the card in LD 32?

We have disabled and enabled the card and ports in 32 and the ports show as IDLE in the switch, but "NOT ACTIVE" in the Miran Admin "Information" Section, and they still go to static instead of the recording..

I would disable the card, unseat it, plug it back in, and enable it after it boots up. If you have the ability to connect to the serial port as it boots up I would watch it and see what it shows.

We have done that several times and... no luck :( We do not have the ability to connect via serial port. Could we just be looking at a bad card that just happened to go bad when the system was taken down?

I think I would look at the channel assignments and make sure they are still there. It could be you are hitting the port but their is no announcement assigned to that channel causing the static.

Just checked channel assignment -- all channels are assigned the proper announcement files.
