We are moving from CR7 to CR9 with our VC++6.0 application. Should I expect any hiccups in VC with using CR9? How about transitioning to VS.NET 2003?

Also, we export to RTF using CR7. The results are a bit less than ideal because of formatting goof ups etc. that seem inherent to CR7. Does CR9 fix a lot of these type of issues?

Should I expect equal or better looking results exporting to PDF vs RTF?

Sorry for throwing so many questions in one thread :)

Thanks!
Bob

Exporting definitely gets better in 9, and exporting to PDF is nice and clean. I've exported some pretty busy reports to PDF, and they've come out great.

As for the VC++ move from 7 to 9, I can't really say, as I do most of my programming in VB. I can't find any samples for VC++ specifically for use with Crystal 9, but there are several for .NET.

Are you using the RDC or the OCX in your CR7 application? The OCX is no longer available, so you will need to upgrade that.

The move to VS.NET requires a major redesign of your report objects and methods. For example, loading a DB connection or a parameter is quite different in VS.Net.
