want to use XP "Migrating Files and Settings" Wizard to move files from a desktop PC to a laptop. Documentation states can use a serial connection from machine to machine. Question is, does a USB cable qualify, or am I restricted to older, slower 9 pin serial ports?

Thanks.

Robin's Rule: If you put the cover back on before you test it, it will not work.

You can also store these settings on a floppy disk or CD-R; or point to a Network Share location.
