Hello, as head of the migration project for the next year in my company I have to sketch a migration plan. Another company did this same migration but had very poor results and a lot of downtime, or so I have been told. This has put me in the quest for suggestions, step by step guides, possible issues, and all sorts of information about this topic.

Would any of you have some hints, step by step guides, suggestions, or whatever comes to your mind that might help me sort out a good migration plan?

Currently we use Active Directory and Domino Mail server (which is on a linux box) as well as some collaboration tools like sameime.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Here is a link to an IBM redbook on how to upgrade to Domino 6. While it does not cover v6.5 the steps and best practices are outlined here.

Also you should review the readme.nsf and the admin help files as these both have upgrade chapters in them.

The good news is that while upgrading is a big task, if you take time to plan and research you will be successful. I've survived several upgrades going back to Notes 3. The worst one was Notes v3 to 4. Each time they have gotten easier.

Good luck!
