Migrating DIDs from DID trunks to a PRI -- anything I should know?

Are there any special steps I should be aware of when I migrate a 100 block of DIDs from a DID trunk group to a PRI? Just looking for some confirmation that I haven't missed anything. Phonia

Make sure you know how many digits the CO is sending and strip off what you have to, in the Trunk group form. In other words if your did range is 328-1100 to 1199, and the CO is sending 7 digits, you would put in service feature "Did" (define it first in the ISDN network facilities form - usually type 2), called LEN would be 7, called number 328, Del 3, the other columns blank. In an Avaya, its usually best to have them send 7 rather than 4 and strip off the prefix to avoid conflicts with DIOD's terminating on the span. If your using CBC you will have to change the allocation tables to account for them. with a hundred DID's on one 23 channel span, I would make sure you have at least a minimum of 5 channels and a max of whatever you can put in, according the formula (total channels - sum of minimums cannot exceed the Maximum minus the minimum on any one line. If you would like an example, let me know.

Okay, most of that probably won't apply as I'm not using allocation tables and I'm having SBC send 4 digits. If that's all I have to think about, my cutover will probably go swimmingly. Thanks! Phonia

Are you building your own trunk group? If so with PRI you will need to add a signaling group. How many T1's are coming in for you new circuits? Is there "Associated Signaling"? Are you also having your CO moved to the new PRI circuits? Will all incoming call be set at??? Lots of questions especially when going to PRI.
If Avaya is making the change there shouldn't be to much to think about. If your are making the changes contact me at bob.hanson@blueshieldca.com and I will help or recommend someone that can help you.
