We have a MICS with 5.0 and PRI and upgraded a Flash 2 to a 8 port NAM. Mailboxes work, AA answers Target line 145, CFNA for each ectensions goes to individual mailboxes correctly. The problem is that the Traget lines assigned to the individual stations as private lines do not go to their individual mailboxes but instead is answered by the AA. CFNA is set to 4 rings to the voicemail extension number. Whatever I cahnge the CFNA to the AA answers the line. If I delete the AA/Greeting table the Target line is answered by a default system greeting: "using the dialpad , enter ....."
Target Lines are not assigned to Answer with AA and is
answer lines is off.
We had no problems with the Flash 2 answering thier individual Traget lines. Due to an AC leak above the voicemail system , water made me make the change.

If you intercom the extension is does go directly to the persons voicemail box with the CFNA assigned rings. If you call the main number, target line 145, AA answers and then you dial an extension number. The call is transferred to the correct telephone but the individual mailbox does not pick up but is returned to AA.

Do you have your Target Lines primed to the Extensions or the main operator phone?

If I understand your situation correctly.I have had this happen before. I would reduce the forward delay to three rings in the FNA field for that extension.

Target lines should be public and prime to the phone that it's assigned to.

Aw come on folks...

This is an age old problem that has been discussed to DEATH here in this forum and I'm surprised no one else has given the correct answer.

Here's your problem:

MICS 5.0 and PRI!

That set up ain't never gonna work right no matter what you do to it and Nortel won't even talk to you because it's a known software mismatch. Oh sure, you may get lucky and find a way around some of the issues you'll run into but the problem is that they don't really go away and new ones will keep popping up.

ANYONE running PRI with anything less than 6.1 software should stop wasting their precious time and money troubleshooting a smorgasboard of known issues such as the one described above. Do yourselves a big favor and call your vendor to have a certified Norstar tech do an upgrade immediately!

Case Closed!

Hope i'm not too late on this, but since you have a mics 5.0
there's an option called "redirect dn" in your norstar
voice mail that is affected by the mics 5.0 and higher. You don't mention the version of your nam but if it's version 4.1.05e, you need to go in "feature 983" then press "8", if
it's set to "Y" change it to "N" that should fix your problem. Good luck!
