MICS CLID Upgrade Not Working

I'm trying to upgrade my MICS 7.1 system with an older analog line card (NT7875GB) to one that supports caller id (NT7B75AAAC).

I swapped the cards thinking it should just be a seamless upgrade and that the MICS should pick up the new card type upon re-booting. This didn't seem to work. The telephone displays 'Not in service' when I now try to select any of the lines 1-4.

I looked at the hardware settings via the 'Hardware ==>Cd1-KSU:', but 'Loop' seems to be the appropriate setting here.

Does anyone know the basic steps in swapping these cards and activating the CLID.

PS: I know how to activate CLID on the telephone, and the information is being sent by the Telco.

Did you power down the system before swapping them? There are some programming settings for clid, but if you aren't seeing the card, then I'd try a power cycle, and see if it's working.

I did power it down yes.

I've played with it a little more since my original post and it appears the card now works. I can select the lines, but the caller ID doesn't get displayed on incoming calls. I have it enabled for the telephone, but still nothing.

Funny, the system time got updated to the correct system time, so I know the card is decoding incoming CLID information. The clock use to be a few minutes out due to the older LS/DS card not being able to decode the CLID and hence the time.

...wonder why it won't display now.

Do you show the information if you do Feature 811 while the call is ringing in?

OK, further update, it does display, but only after I answer the call.

Guess I have to figure out if its possible to display without having to answer first.

... lots of features in these nortel systems.

Is that extension set to ring. Caller id will only show up automatically if the phone is set to ring. Did you set each line to be a caller id line in telco programming under terminals and sets?

Got it, now it displays automatically!

Thanks All !
