This occurs with both Microsoft Word and my Outlook Express when I send emails./
When I press the enter key the foward slash appears just as it did above. I will hit enter at the end of this sentence and it should show up again./
Ever seen this before? Any hints to eliminate it?
A problem description of "Microsoft Word" is far too general even if it is related to the problem you are having, which in this case it clearly isn't.
Do you get a new line as well as the slash? I don't know how, but it sounds like a keyboard mapping issue to me.
Enjoy,
Tony

OK - I apologize if my question is too general or vague but here are the simple facts - my last keystroke will be the "enter" key and you will see what appears after every time I do that on whatever type of document I am working on - this one, outlook express mail, Word - all of them./
My question is how do I eliminate the forward slash everytime I hit the "enter" key as seen directly after this question mark?/
I am using Microsoft XP Professional and Microsoft Word 2000. I have looked at mapping and I have reviewed and played with the formatting - all to no avail. If I need to clarify this any further please give me specifics as to what you would like to know. My last keystrokes to you all will be four strokes on the "enter" key./

Lilliabeth - thanks a bunch for following up with me. Here's the latest- the forward slash was appearing every time I used the enter key - even when I was creating formulas on an excel spreadsheet. Finally, duh, I tried the OTHER enter key and NO FORWARD SLASH! Thinking I would just bypass using the other enter key I started rummaging for another keyboard but before I found it I just used the infamous enter key and now no forward slash appears. It's a mystery but I want to thank you for your persistence and assistance. Thank you and have a great day.
