'microsoft script editor' very slow 1

I've just started using 'microsoft script editor'
via Frontpage
Why would 'microsoft script editor' be so slow in
editiong script, I have too wait up to 10 seconds for some typed
code to appear, is this to be expected?

I had a problem with Visual Studio editing ASP files over mapped drives. Every time I started typing there was latency before the characters would appear. Telling my AV software not to use real-time protection on the mapped drives that the asp files were on fixed the issue for me.

I disabled the AV and voila!
