Hi, has anyone heard if this is going to be free? I downloaded it to try on my SQL server but i thought i seen something about a 120 day trial version.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

The way MS is looking at it is ... If you have a licensed copy of SQL Server 2000, you are able to pick up Reporting Services for free. Bottom line is you have to have an SS2K license for every copy of Reporting Services you plan to run.

Of course when Yukon rolls, it will be bundled with it.

Thanks

thanks for the info Jay. another question for ya if you don't mind. I keep hearing about a report designer that comes with it. Would it be better to use their report designer of just us visual studio .net.?? or this basically the same thing? Cause i read somewhere you need the visual studio .net in order to install Designer.

The Visual Studio .Net IDE is the designer. Don't know if they're planning for a standalone designer.

You can check out this thread (thread149-716214) for some opinions.
