Hi,

1. this is regarding outlook preview pane.

when a new mail arrives with attachment , i am unable to view atleast the

content(text) of the mail. But once i opened the mail by double clicking , i

will be able to see the contents in the preview pane itself. this was not

happening with outlook express. how can i enable the setting to view the

contents in the preview pane itself without double clicking on the mail.

2. this is regarding link come with the mail.

Suppose if i receive a mail which has some link specified and i just wanted

to open this in a new internet explorer window. how can i?

it is opening in the current window in which i am browsing some thing.

Our platform is windows NT.

Expecting your early response.

1. To enable the preview pane, in outlook click view then layout and check the 'show preview pane' box and click ok.

2. You would need to put an 'open in new window' option in the right click menu for outlook express but I don't know if that can be done. If so it would require a registry hack but i don't know of any that'll do that. Maybe someone else does.

A crude solution to the latter problem which I often use:

Prior to clicking the link, go to your browser window and press CTRL-N to open a new browser window, in which an exact copy of what you are currently browsing is made. Now return to Outlook and doubleclick the link. It will open in one of the two windows (I believe in the one you just created), leaving the other intact.

Regarding 2, try holding down the shift key and clicking on the link.
