does anyone know the correct kernel module or specifications for the adapter? I can't get it to work on a fresh install of redhat 8.0. it says it can't fine the correct module. is this the ever powerful micro$oft pushing their might around? or is this something that i can get to work? i really like the design and would like to be able to use the hardware. thanks alot hope someone knows something.

Why didn't you check the approved hw list before trying to
use this hw?
Why don't you do a google search first?

googled already. i'm sure it will work. microsoft doesn't make chipsets so its just a matter of finding out which one it is. hw list? i wasn't aware that linux had a hw list. seems a little to over bearing to really have one and keep it updated, since hardware from the stone age will still work in linux.
