Microsoft Mouse Is Not Moving 2

I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Blue, at least I was until it was dropped on the floor. The red light under the mouse is still flashing with each click, but the cursor does not move on the monitor. I even put in new AA batteries but still no response. Nothing appears to be broken. The receiver's light is working, and there appears to be no problem there. If anyone has a suggestion on how to get this mouse working again, I'd appreciate hearing from you. The light is there only for the purpose that the sensor will have something to read and compare movement from.
The red light don't mean anything if the sensor is broke ,or the electronics in the device that interpets the sensor reading .
So ,the mouse is shot i'm afraid .

course you could try dropping it again and see if that helps. Just an . Not that you could do too much more damage. guess you could always turn it into a lit up paper weight. Sorry we can't help you but when it comes to something like that there isnt much you can do.

Though as an after thought make sure that you reset it with the button on the bottom if you already haven't

Thanks to all three of you for your responses. Tried working with the mouse again this morning but no luck. The mouse is dead! I'll use it as a paperweight along side the Cat Optical Reader (remember that fiasco which died sometime back)? Fortunately, I still have my old Microsoft Intellimouse and it still works just fine.
