Microsoft mail w/ Outlook 2002....HELP!!!! 1

We recently added our controllers Laptop to our network and (yes this dates us,but) we are unable to conifigure his 2002 OUTLOOK with MICROSOFT MAIL. I read that it is no longer supported in OUTLOOK, but there has to be a way to get him internal email without serious software upgrade...isn't there? He is running xp pro w/ OUTLOOK 2002. I have upgraded other machines from other OS's and the transfer to OUTLOOK 2002 w/ mcrosoft mail was allowed. Can anyone help me here?

Thanks SMUG. I have been searching here for about 2 hours. If people would be a little bit more descriptive in their title's things would go alot smoother. I appreciate your answer, the whole reason for going to the library to do research...is because James Dewey already set everything in order. I have searched this Forum, and Microsoft's (thats how I knew that it isn't supported anymore.)
Would someone with a little bit better direction try and answer this question? Or better yet....direct me to the aisle that the book is in ?
