I was just hunting through student directories for executables. We have recently installed Microsoft Office 2000 on some of our machines. I see that each student has a folder in their home directory called
Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097}
and in this folder are 10 executables, about 512K in total. Not bad for one user, but for 1200 users, that tends to add up!
The executables are named:
accicons.exe
bindicon.exe
fpicon.exe
graph9.ico
misc.exe
outicon.exe
PEicons.exe
pptico.exe
wordicon.exe
xlicons.exe
I can't find any information about these executables on Microsoft's site (surprise!) -- anybody know what they are? I think they are related to keeping user profiles?
