I had one of our micros location's hdd fail. I've re-imaged it, but since then everytime we try to process a credit card it hangs on processing authorization and then tried to dial out. I am having no internet issues with this locataion and the only change is a clean load of all the software on a new hdd. Has anybody had an issue like this? I've been in contact with the micros helpdesk, but they don't have a clue.

Did you install CC Drivers when you reloaded the software? That would be the first thing I'd check.

Open the POS configurator and go to Devices | CA/EDC Drivers. #1 should be Demo, followed by at least two live drivers. You'll probably see entries for VisaNet, (VSCA/VSST), and/or Transaction Vault, (TVCA/TVCS). The "A" is for authorization, "S" is settlement. Whatever you have, the bottom two should be the live drivers. Click on one of them. If you get a "no help file" pop-up you don't have the drivers installed.

CC info is held in the registry, so another cause could be a config mismatch between the database and the new image. You should be able to fix this by saving a minor change in the setup. If you're getting any auths through the system, don't do this unless all CC transactions are batched and settled just to be safe. Also, before you make any changes export your CC registry entries, HKLM\Software\Micros\Common\CCS, to a text file for backup.

[li]Go to the live auth driver, make a change to the backup phone number, save, then change it back and save.[/li]
[li]Check the Comm Channel, (should be 2), and the Host IP Address, (should be g1.merchantlink.com:8443, backup is g2). These are on the System tab. Don't mess with the Merchant tab.[/li]
[li]Do the same for the settlemnt driver.[/li]
[li]Open the windows services snap-in and restart the Micros Credit Card service.[/li]
[li]Reload the database from the Micros Control panel.[/li]
