mgc register to cppm

hi all

i`ve already configured the mgc , and the self test completes successfuly, the display changes to pass. the mgc begins loading application software-the display changes to LOAD.and it stay as it (on LOAD ) . NOT CHANGE , not register to CPPM. I can ping the cppm , cppm ss , but can`t ping the MGC. I checked all connections ,it`s ok.
is it A HARDWARE problem or software (Gold firmware), how to solve it??

The MGC is looking for a file called mgcsetup.xml from the Call Server. Question? Do you have the MGC configured in you node prooperties under the Superloop of the MEDIA GATEWAY? If you don't, the MGC will never boot into service. The mgcsetup.xml file comes from the node propertites. If you watch the command line of the MGC (on port 0 of two finger cable 9600 N-8-1) you will see the MGC looking for that file from the Call Server.

Is that a new card or was it in use someplace else? Mainly I want to know if it ever had any IP addresses on the card. Either you have faulty hardware, or the IP addresses are wrong on the card. You can attach a sniffer to the network port on the MGC and watch to see if it is sending out any information. That can confirm if there is a hardware failure or not.

It looks like the MGC is loading from a GOLD image. Once you boot the mgc into service it should NOT boot from gold image. After it finds a Call Server and gets it mgcsetup.xml file, it should boot from the CF (compact flash). The Call Server upgrades the MGC to cause it to boot from the CF.

When you booted the MGC up the first time did you set the IP information along with the Call Servier IP address? If not the MGC does not no where to go for the Call Server.

Let the MGC continue to boot and see if you can see if it is trying to go to a Call Server. If not post back and I will find the procedure to go to the "mgcsetup" in order to set the IP information.

first i cofigured the call server successfuly and ping the callserver ip 192.168.3.32.

then i start to configure the MGC with ip 192.168.3.33
but with out asking me to set the TLAN. after complete the configuration and it asked to rebote i select no to gback to configure the TLAN.
