We are in the process of opening a new remote office in Mexico City. This would be an LSP hung off of my US core 6.0.1. We plan to deploy a G450/s8300D with an MM710 E1/T1 and MM711 and the carrier in country is Telmex.
After a discussion with the carrier, they indicate they use R2 modified interface, which I've never heard of. Sounds as if they don't hand off via ethernet. Does this require a special adapter on the AVAYA end that I'd need to order? We typically just order a MM710 or 710B and connect to carrier via Ethernet.
Also, they indicate they supply the service in increments of 10 channels. Based on asking for 100 DID's we are being quoted 30 channels. I've read through a few threads about Telmex/Mexico City and I want to make sure I'm handling this properly.
If this R2 is some type of protocol, I see in 'disp sys cust' that Multifrequency Signaling is set to 'y'. Is that what I need on the switch end?
Lastly, they mentioned for analog they use G.703. What do I need for something like that?
