Why is it possible to program more then one R1-Number in MD. I do not see any technical advantage to do so. I only see a reason in having different customers with different public numberplans. Other ideas?

Hi,
You can have one R1 number for remote extensions e.g. your home phone. And one R1 number for mobile extensions from one mobile operator and one R1 number from another mobile operator.

What is the advantage? If I have only one R1-Number for all this three applications, then it works too.

Hi Larl

The advantage is attached to the DID numbers.
In some cases, the DID number range is attached to the ISDN line from operator.
Therefore it could be good to have R1 number on each operator.
An other point is also if your connection is going down for some reason. The R1 number is no more accessible, and if you have backup on other line with other operator then you system is still available.

But it is up to you to configure the R1 numbers, so it is up to you to configure only one.
