The advantage is attached to the DID numbers.
In some cases, the DID number range is attached to the ISDN line from operator.
Therefore it could be good to have R1 number on each operator.
An other point is also if your connection is going down for some reason. The R1 number is no more accessible, and if you have backup on other line with other operator then you system is still available.
But it is up to you to configure the R1 numbers, so it is up to you to configure only one.
