Methods That Run on Page Load ?

I know that the Page_Load event runs when the user clicks on a link to get to a page but what runs when the user types the URL of the page into the browser directly? It seems as if the Page_Load event will not fire when the URL is entered directly.

Any help appreciated!!!

Yes it will, the Page_Load event always fires no matter how the page is accessed

Wierd, when I put a breakpoint and run my site in debug it never gets hit.

Are you starting the app in debug mode when you do this, or are you just opening a browser and typing the address in?

I am starting the app in debug mode.

I am trying to do the user authentication myself so I want to check to see if my user object is null on the administrative page load (and subsequent admin pages).

I don't want to use the membership and roles features, so any direction would be great!

I don't see how the page_load would not be hit.. there must be something you are missing

Also, make sure that your break point is not inside of a conditional statement. You might want to terminate the worker process and then try again.
