All,
Thanks for reading my post.
Scenario:
Windows NT4 SP6 (PDC) and Windows NT/TS 4 SP6 with Metaframe 1.8
- User profiles reside on the PDC shared folder (which I don't understand
the reason why to keep UP across server)
Question 1. Why is best practice to copy user profiles on another server
and/or location? I think it increases network traffic as well as CPU
Performance plus users have to wait for the profile to download to the local
metaframe server so they can start their session. By the way, we are using
roaming profiles. I'm about to move UP to the local Metaframe Server and
place them in a seperate drive where users can't see but the server can.
Question 2. I noticed that users are sharing the same desktop. For instance,
Let's say I logon to the citrix server and I placed a shortcut on my desktop
to access The same shortcut appear on other users desktop,
Why?. Each user has their own Terminal Server profile path where their
profile is stored.
Also, if you happen to know a website where I can visit and learn more about
citrix and terminal server configuration OTHER THAN CITRIX.COM it will be
great.
Thank you so much for your help.
