messages are piling up in the mta's and I can't send them on through. I can only delete themm.
1. I have stopped and started the services.
2. stopped and started the mta's
3. recalculated the routing
4. restarted the server
5. IM LOST PLEASE HELP

Check your event logs an post any messages you find.

Also any NDR's if they are being sent.

If you are using a tcp connector make sure you can ping the machine on the other end. You could have dropped the route out of the Exchange servers routing table.

I got it, the characters in the connector were less than 12 and someone changed the password on the connector. Once the right password was entered and the connector was properly named the messages started to flow again.
