Went snooping around the system this evening and it turns out the kitchen phone is the same extension as the default system administrator mailbox (102), so they were matched up. Apparently somebody had got thrown into that mailbox and they just hung up, but were connected long enough for it to record the hangup.
After reading different messages on here and going through the manuals myself, at times I wish I could just blow away the programming and start all over. The vendor that did the original programming really needs to go to some refresher courses (of course, it would have to be the whole company since I had about three people over there work on this system).
I've been able to accomplish somethings that they said were not possible, and told my client it was a "software upgrade" so they wouldn't think it was there the whole time.
