Message waiting lamp not working

Hi all,

I have an odd situation here. The message waiting lamp on a 2216 set is not working. MWK is programmed, MWI indicator in correct in Call Pilot, yet the light wont come on. We took that phone to another position and the light works so we know it isn't the light itself. CLS info is as follows on the set that isn't working:

How about the other one you said worked?

My guess would be the MCR key's, which one do you want the light for?

I think your going to need a RMWK programmed as the light is for KEY 0 and you have a ACD DN there.

You have 2 MCR keys on that set, try programming 1 SCR key (but deacquire the set first)

(You can try it with just on MCR key but on an ACD phone you should setup an SCR)

In order for a message waiting light to work it MUST be a single appearance of that DN or it MUST appear on Key 0 of the set. Since you are using a 2216 the second option is out of the question because the ACD key has to be on key 0.

You can deacquire the set and add another DN to that set as a SCN XXXX and use that DN as the message waiting indicator for the voice mail box.

Doesn't need to be on the first key.
You just need a short key hunt to the prime number.

To test the light you can always use MIK on the test phone.

Program both MIK and MCK on 2 test phone keys.
Press MIK key enter the phone number, press MIK key again and the message waiting light should come on.

MCK key turns it off.

RMWK KEY will flash, but the RED Vmail light on the phone won't light.
