I use Outlook Express and I am trying to limit "spam" and/or "virus" e-mails from being received on my system. I have used the "Block Sender" feature successfully to do this for "spam" messages but my list of "Blocked Senders" is growing very long. Is there a limit to how many names I can specify?

For blocking viruses and other generic e-mails, I am trying to use "Message Rules". Is there any documentation available on what the "Actions" actually do? For example, when I don't want a message to appear at all, am I better off choosing "Delete message on server" or "Do not download message from server"? Are there any ramifications about message storage space on the server?

Thanks,

Gerry Goldberg

If you don't want a message to appear, then you don't want it left on the server either I expect, so select Delete message on server. There must be some issue about storage space on the server. After all it's just a computer somewhere else. I really don't know what ISP's do with very old email messages that aren't downloaded. Nothing at all I would imagine. Peter Meachem
