MY apologies. Let me be a bit more specific. They are only utilizing one Mbox so that Therapists can leave reports. Some are lengthy. I need to extend the message length as well as storage capacity. Can I change the parameters of the COS??? I understand it's a waste of VM usage, but they are the client. An answering machine would be more suitable for this app.

Checked out some earlier threads and got my answer. I already felt they would have to upgrade to CP. Thanks

In a flash, the COS table is fixed. If you add the expansion module to a Flash 2 to make it a Flash 4, you get more channels and more mail boxes and more overall storage (so more boxes could have the maximum retention and size based on COS assigned), but each individual mailbox would still be constrained by the existing COS table options.

Just came across this from an earlier 2003 post through hyper terminal.
Connect to the DB25 connector as Arr describes in the above post. Start with a baud of 300, 7-E-1. Press the Enter key to see if you get a password prompt. If you don't try 1200, 8-N-1; 2400, 8-N-1; 4800, 8-N-1. When you get a password prompt enter SYSMGR. A menu will come up that includes changing class of service.

Class of Service Admin

Enter the class of service number(1-16, Return if Done): 1
Enter the class of service name (20 characters):[]
Enter the prompt language(1-2)[1]:
Enter the maximum mailbox message time(1-180 min):[15]
Enter the maximum mailbox message length(1-15 min):[3]
Enter the maximum days for retention of messages(1-365,0=Don't purge):[30]
Are personal greetings allowed?(y/n):[Yes]
Enter maximum greeting length(1-10 min):[1]
Is access to system group lists allowed?(y/n):[Yes]
Is message notification allowed?(y/n):[Yes]
Enter retry interval(1-60 min.):[5]
Enter number of attempts(1-9):[3]

If this is the thread you are referring to:

The hyper terminal session refers to an older Startalk of the A/B/C variety and not a Startalk Flash, even though the Flash came out after the A/B/C, it did not have some of the configurables that the eariler A/B/C units had.

However, if you find the menu for changing COS in a Flash 2 or Flash 4, please post the NT number from the PCMIA flash software card, it would be interesting to explore.

Yeah, I gained access w/ 1200Baud Rate 8 N 1. I was able to get password to appear but could not enter sysmgr. The cursor would not move...
