Need help from any MM guru..

First of all, I can receive faxes to my DID#, but the phone still rings. How do I distinguish this from a voice call or a fax call? Can the system do that in the background so if it is a fax, it won't ring?

2nd - I tried to send a fax, using Word and the MM fax driver but what's the format for entering a fax number. I tried all the combinations, but it keeps telling me the number I enter not valid.

Help?

There is no way for the Avaya system to know if the call is a fax call and not ring your phone, but U could send it to another number that is available in the Intuity subcrib. form and set up another DID for it.
The LEC network has a service in some areas that can know if a call is a fax and route it different also.

To fax out, U have to know the fax machine name in the Intuity. It also must be set up correctly

P.S. For the best response to a question, read FAQ222-2244. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Please answer all questions so that I may have the info to assist you. Leaving a post on how you fixed the problem will also be appreciated.

I have been successfull in sending faxes through message manager. When entering the phone number in your address book, you have to use the following format for a fax: 91XXXXXXXXXX@Fax
P.S. it is case sensitive
