message box password

Hey,

I have a combo box that allows a person to select their name, but stores a given password for that person. I want a message box to pop up and ask them to verify their password. If it does match, then display the details and add a new record, but if not... close the form. Can I do this?

I'd suggest creating your own form for password input. Using the built in InputBox will work, but you cannot mask the password -- anyone standing nearby can see it.

[blue]randy700[/blue] is directly on target! Quite a bit more than my suggestion. So thats the way to go.

In support of [blue]randy700s[/blue] suggestion, you need a [blue]Sign In Form![/blue]. This form contains a textbox [blue]for entering the pwd[/blue], and a command button to [blue]verify the pwd and continue[/blue].

The textbox [blue]Input Mask[/blue] is set to [blue]Password[/blue] (this replaces characters entered with the [blue]*[/blue]). The button code remains, according to your answers.

You apparently have a table with names and pwds. What is the name of that table and its fields?
