Hello everyone. I was just handed a Merlin Legend 5.0 V10.0 with Merlin Legend Integrated Solution III.

After unpacking all the boxes and powering up the system, I was able to follow along with all the instructions for programming the system using the MLX20L.

Now I would like to use the software to program and run the system. However the system (came used from Ebay) did not include any reference to system passwords and or mechanism of resetting the unix passwords to default or none.

If anyone can be assistance, please let me know.

Thanks Jay Torres

Jay,

I believe you can use the default login and password - IS - for Integrated Solutions - at both of your initial login and PW prompts if the previous user didn't setup something else.

Try login: maint
password: pizza

This will work on all Lucent IS3 voice mail systems.

Best way to rebuild database is to re-install Unix, then re-install applications disk by disk.

It takes about 2-3 hours but the system will be totally "clean"

Doing a rebuild is always a solution but is NOT necessary for the specific problems related to the 9/8/01 Y2K bug that corrupted the passwords and mailboxes on the IS voice mail systems.

This message is for CDUFF.

The backdoor login and password do not work on the IS#s that we work on.

What is the secret. We have other tricks to get around the login and password when doing maintenance, but another backdoor trick would be nice.

Let me know.
