Hello,

I am setting up a VIRTUAL PRI voice T1 from one of my Nortel PBXs to a remote Nortel PBX. What protocol would you suggest using? Also, what should each "USR" setting be set as for both?

Thanks,

Olympus41

A virtual T1 being a point to point T1 going from one Nortel PBX to another Nortel PBX.

Thanks,

Don't understand why you says "Virtual". I should be a real PRI. Use SL1 protocol on both sides, Main site with SIDE NET, remote site with SIDE USR

anytime you use the term vertial, change that word to not.. ie vertial reality.. vertially non-blocking..etc.. it's just a point to point.. had me thinking possible voip...

but the best way to go is b8zs extended super frame.. but you order a ptp esf and apply the coding at the switch.. here's mine to an opt 11 from an 81

here's the d for that.. note side is net on this end so i send clock.. side on the far end is usr.. he can clock off of me or not depending on his ddb.. in this case the far end clock off of the same ld carrier with the tie as a backup.

another thing we seem to miss is pni.. that matches on both ends and in both cdb's.. you may not need it but here is a trunk..almost default

not that big of a job but if this is the 1st pri in the switch, there are a couple of cdb options you may need to adjust

That looks great. One question about the PNI setting. Would that affect any existing T1s when I set the PNI in the CDB?

Thank you,
