I have a Nortel, Ameritech, Meridian M7324 Model telephone that has 24 keys with 4 outside lines and two of the 4 are stuck with the message "Line In Use". Yesterday I tried to "Link", "Transfer" a call and two of the telephone lines are stuck. I cannot get a dial tone on either line. I left the telephone unplugged overnight thinking that would dislodge or cancel the link/transfer but it did not work.

Please help me.

You should do a reset on your phone system. Just unplug the power to the system for 30 seconds and re-apply the power to it. This should solve your problem.

We all need a little help once in awhile. Tony the Phoneman..

I unplugged the telephone overnight and when I arrived to work this morning, the lines are still locked, jammed, frozen! I tried again today (unplug the phone cord from the jack) and nothing. I don't have a "power" plug, just the telephone cord.

Any help to unjam this is appreciated.

Figure out which two lines are stuck (with Feature * 0), then pull the x-connect from those lines if they are analog lines, then put the x-connect back. If they are on a T1, then deprovision and reprovision those lines or just dis-enable the whole T1 circuit, then re-anable it.

Thanks bigcat919 for your response. I know which lines are stuck by using the *0 feature, however, I have no idea how to "dis-enable the whole T1 circuit, then re-anable it." All I have access to is a telephone and a wall jack! Any other solutions?

Is it a T1 or are they Analog?

Hi Hawks - it is definitely T1! Any thoughts or ideas on how to clear the jam?

Go into Maintenance and you can either deprovision the channels or disable the card then re-enable it.

Now all 4 outside lines are jammed! All 4 lines read "Line in use" when the button is pressed, so now I cannot get an outside line or dial tone. I can get a dial tone if I press one of the two intercom buttoms, but when I try to dial out I get a message stating "No free lines" and a busy signal. The same is true for the "voice call" button too. I just need to clear the 4 outside lines that are jammed and I'm sure there is a code or something to make this happen. Help me please. I need my telephone to perform my day-to-day job duties. Also, if you call any of the 4 numbers from another phone, voicemail picks up and the telephone doesn't ring.

try putting the lines into a different pool/PRI and reassigning pool/PRI access to users. Ran accross a problem once on a CICS where Pool A just would not work but Pool B did

how would no free lines affect your voice call?

Thank you everybody, we fixed the problem by disconnecting the main power source for about 30 seconds and it cleared the telephone lines. Apparently our lines were stuck in a conference mode.
