Am looking at adding two IPE shelves to a column that already has a Meridian Mail Modular Option EC (2 shelves). Some documentation says that the mail system should be at the bottom where the air flow resides. Others say it should be up top. Anyone have the definite answer?

Thanks for the help.

I've always heard that the mail module and application modules should be on the bottom.

Mine is the on the bottom, and I also have heard that the bottom is the best location for mail.

Found this for you.

The module that contains node 1 (the primary node, which
contains the tape drive) can be placed in the first or second
position of a stack when operating in ambient temperatures of
up to 40°C (104°F). It can also be placed in the third position of
a stack when the ambient temperature will not exceed 35°C
(95°F).
Other modules can be placed in the first, second, or third
position of a stack when operating in ambient temperatures of
up to 40°C (104°F). They can also be placed in the fourth
position of a stack when the ambient temperature will not
exceed 35°C (95°F).

i've seen them at any location. i perfer a separate col. but usually if your adding a mail no one wants to pay to move two ipe's above the new mail.. if your having temp problems, i would schudle a move, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it

Thanks for the quick responses.
Told at one time that it was essential for it to be on top! A lot of work. Glad I asked the question.
