I know this has bee covered before but here goes:

Trying to install a cap unit on a M7324 set. Have 24v, polarity is correct. Phone and cap both boot up. I can see sets that are in use light up on the cap unit, I just can't get to the cap to program the buttons. SW ver 30EBF07. System has a second cap unit, on that one I can do a button inquiry, F*0, and program buttons, F*1, F*2, F*3, seems like the system dosen't see the second unit. I seem to remember on the MICS, under sets, you had to tell system there was a cap on a 7324 set. I can't find that option on the meridian. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

the cap is assigned under Feature 9* * 2 6 6 3 4 4 ->System Programming:->Cap1:

both CAPs need power supply
and use a 6 conductor cable

Some of the older KLM's need power on one pair, some need power on two pair. Have seen this occur a number of times. And yes, a 3 pair line cord is needed.

One other thing....you only need to tell the system there is a cap on any 7324 if you are going to put lines directly on it. Just for internal extensions or speed dials, the system does not need to know where the KLM is.
