We are running a meridian option 11 with 2 sites have a meridian 1 mini-carrier. The problem we are having is phones at the remote sites are getting random static. Has anybody experienced this problem. We've replaced the cards and fiber at the main plant. So far still getting static. AT&T said the static is on our internal machine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Thanks MossEng, Not sure what you mean by earthed correctly? Are you talking grounded? I've had our vendor in here and he can't seem to find the problem either. I have not swapped out the power supply here at the main site yet. That is the next step.

Earthing and grounded means making sure that the system is wired connected with a good sized bonding cable as should be defined by your electrical regulations.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Thanks FBS...actually the ground was knocked off and we put it back on. I have a brand new power supply sitting there I wonder if that would take care of the problem.

Just wanted to tell you all thanks!! So far so good!!! replaced the connector for the ground!!!!

I was wrong...still getting static. My vendor suggested replacing the power supply. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

You say you have 2 sites that are mini-carrier remote sites and they BOTH have intermittent static? But no problem at the main site? How does AT&T explain that?
You might want to log into the MCR's and Display History. Might show some errors occurring at the same time on both remote sites. That would indicate a carrier problem.

That's exactly what we have and no static at the main site StanleySteamer. AT&T says the T1's are clean with no errors! I haven't changed out the power supply to that box...I'll give that a try next.

Thanks
