Hi there

I am running a terminal services environment and I would like to deploy a standard set of macros to several departments in the company. I was planning to just cut and past the normal.dot into each users profile, that is until I realised that some had already created other macros and made lots of auto text entries.

Is it possible merge two normal.dot files or is there another way of adding macros to multiple normal.dot files?

Thanks in advance

Antoni

Hi Paul666,
I have the same issue, getting a macro deployed in word and excel. I wanted to visit the link you mentioned but the exact link does not exist and addbalance.com seems to be a "parked website" right now. Any other possible solutions?

In Word go to Tools, Options and pick the file locations tab. You will see an entry for Workgroup Templates.

Set each copy of Word to use the same file location which will need to be on a shared network drive which should probably be read only for most users.

Once the location is set up and populated local copies of Word will access both the local user's templates and the workgroup templates and the latter should have different names.

Although there is a set up cost in pointing each instance of Word to the central location you now have only one copy of the template to maintain.
