Merging Companies and Exchange servers

so I think I have this figured out.

I have SBS2003 w/exchange running localy (ABC.com to be kept)

other company has exhange 2000 running. (XYZ.com to be dumped)

if I add XYZ.com to my default Policy in my Reciepiant policyes then change the MX record to point to my server.
then have the old usernames asociated with new users on my server I should be all set?
is this correct? what am I missing? I am sure I am missing something.

Well not the old usernames, the old email addresses in the new users email addresses in AD should correspond.
