Merging and session problem with ARCServer 9

Iam using ARCServer 9 on windows 2000 server. I have to restore some data from 8 tapes. After merging it is not showing the tree so I need to restore the entire 300GB data.
It is happening with almost all the backup tapes. Couple of days back i deleted some old databse files due to space problem. Ialso tried restoring those file and restarted the DB engine but no result. Can some body help and suggest what to do?

Maintaining the database size is a common topic here and a little research would have shown how to do that.

In this case you can either Recover Database or reinstall.

Thanks for the response. would you be so kind as to let me know how to reinstall the database. Is it a database problem? I already restored the datafiles and those were
2GB x13 files but i cannot expand the session list.
