Menu & Toolbar Problems in IDE / XP

I recently installed VB6 on a new XP-SP2 system and there seem to be a few weird problems with menu items and toolbars in the IDE.

The Standard tool bar is missing the "Find", "Undo" and "Redo" buttons and the "View" menu is missing the "Call Stack" option. If I select "Customize / Reset" for the Standard Tool Bar, then they reappear but the settings are not saved and the icons are again missing the next time I start the IDE. Same story with the View Menu drop down. I can add the "Call Stack" menu item but it isn't saved.

Does anyone have any ideas about what's causing this and how I might be able to fix it?

(Please don't say "Reinstall VB6"!)

I have a couple of blind guesses here, but applying some logic... It seems that changing the menus is supposed to persist some how. I'm not real sure how though. Changes could be made to the registry or to a file on the drive.

1) Registry. Do you have access to modify it? Particularly, HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Visual Basic

2) Read only files?

Like I said, blind guessing. Hope this helps.

Thanks George.

I can't seem to find anything that looks even slightly promising in either "HK_Current_User" or "HK_Local_Machine". Similarly there doesn't seem to be anything on the Visual Studio directory that's been updated recently that may contain those settings.

Thanks for your wild guesses though.
