I have just ordered two new cisco 3725 routers to replace are exisitng BGP 3640 routers. I want to upgrade the standard 128mb ram to 256mb however, does anyone now whether installing 3rd party router memory rather than cisco memeory has any detrimental effect on router performance.

Cisco memory is 4x as expensive as the third party memory.

regards

Hi

I can't see that it will compromise performance, assuming it is the correct speed and type. However their may be issues with the warranty on your router if you fit non-Cisco accessories.

Check with the reseller.
