Memory req 2

Hello. Im new to mac but have a lot of experience with pc. I decided to clean up a mac and formated the harddrive. The plan was to install a new os on it. But when i tried to install macos 9.1 it says that i need 32 mb of memory. Ulp i only have 16 on this old machine?

I looked at the web and found out that macos 8.6 needed 24mb,,, what version does i have to install if i only have 16?

os 8.1 will work with 16meg but it like more

You would be well advised to load up OS 7.x on that 16MB machine. What machine is it? I may have a module lying around here somewhere. Just a random thought.

On the older machines here we are mostly running 7.6. I've loaded 8.x on a mchine or two but it's nothing but hassles as it consumes most of that 16MB.
