Hi,

We are experiencing a memory leak on one of our 2K3 servers. Using Poolmon, we know that know that the three Pool tags listed below are not freeing up all allocated memory and is slowly draining the box.

Irps Nonp
Irp+ Nonp
Irpt Nonp

Although we have identified which tags are leaking, we are at a loss as to what we have to do next to stop the leak. Any suggestions would be glady appreciated as the Server is critical to business.

Cheers,
Beef

I would see if there is a hot fix or patch available from the Vendor. Until that is resolved, I would schedule automatic re-boots to clear the memory. The re-boot time would depend on production times and how quick memory is taken up by the leak.

Although you have already used Poolmon, have you checked the Task Manager-->Processes tab to check the Mem usage used by a particular process, this might give you an indication of which app is at fault.

In order to get the hotfix or registry hack for this particular leak, I need to find the Driver that is causing it. What I need is to find which drivers are running in the pool tags I have mentioned above.

I beleive there is a FINDSTR command I can run against the tag to show all drivers, I just need some help in doing this.

Cheers
