Hi,

It seems a little old hat these days, but back in the good ol' dos days you could map an amount of memory as a physical drive and copy files to it - was it called smartdrv - i cant remember.

Anyway, back to present day, is there a way to do this in win2k ?

im interested because read speed are quicker from memory.

Richard,
I think you are thinking about RamDrive. I'm not really sure with all the caching nowadays that it makes much difference. I'm not sure even if it could be run in W2K.

Having said that, has a prog called xmsdsk.exe that lets you create a ramdisk any size that you want. Ian Boys
