runnin p4 1.4ghz abit th7 raid win2k curently usin 128mb ram (2x64mb rimms) (rambus memory) now I have got 2 256mb sticks and they dont seem to work in my pc at all in all different slots / combinations

I know they have to go in pairs
and I know my mobo will accept upto 2gig of ram

could be some setting on my motherboard but my manual does'nt help :-(

Now that you have them you have to try to decipher any markings/silkscreen letting/stickers and track them down with a good search engine...and then consider if they'll work in your board. (you don't seem to know what kind it is)

Your manual doesn't help with the settings, 'cause there aren't any that'll let you use the wrong memory...it WILL tell you what kind you can use.

Safest way is to:
1)Consult your motherboard manual for references on supported RAM so you know WHAT KIND TO BUY
2)Use one of the configurators at crucial or kingston or any of the majors...they'll tell you what you can use.
If you make a mistake with their advice...returned/replaced no charge.

I know what kind it is its rambus which is the same as what im allready using and my board will only take rambus and it will take up 2 2gig so it shud work

only thing I can think of is maybe one of the 256 sticks is faulty
or maybe one of them is ecc and one not because ive heard you cant mix the two?
