I have set up a meet me conference vdn with great success except one problem area. AT&T Wireless gsm phones. For some reason the switch will not recognize the tone or lack thereof of the gsm phone. It recognizes call from tdma and cdma cell phones though. It recognizes call from pots lines as well as isdn lines. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Any nformation about this problem is welcome.

Have you checked on the GSM Cell Phone hardware to ensure that the DTMF phones are set to long and loud?

Do you mean on the cell phone? Where would that be listed or is this something on the switch?

Yes, for each cell phone, and the instructions would be different for each phone, you go into the settings and you have the ability to turn the dtmf tones on/off and to short/long.

In your case I would set them to long/loud. You can e-mail me your meet me conference details to toni@sdaug.com and I will test it with my GSM phone as a participant with DTMF set to long and loud and I'll let you know if I got in or not. Just a test meet me account you don't want to give out any info that would compromize security on your end. Just enough so I can join you as a partipant (so not the host code), and change it after my test.

Mickey,

My GSM phone worked, after entering the security code you sent it said: "You are the first party to join..."

I tested with a Sony Ericsson T68i.

In the cell phone menu, I went to Settings, then Sounds and Alert. Under option 7 "key sounds" I set it to "tone" (previously it was on click), there was another option for "none".

Directions would be different, send me your most common type of GSM phone you use and I'll help you figure out how to make it work.

I am using the the motorola t721 and other people here use the 7280 blackberry all by AT&T wireless. I had my phone set to loud and long but it did not work for me. I will look for the key sounds that you mentioned. Thank you for all of your help.

On the Motorola T721 phone:
Go to Menu
Go to Settings
Go to Initial Setup
Go to DTMF
Set to: "Long"

On the Blackberry
I coulden't find specific place to change DTMF, but you can try changing in the menu to ensure everything has a tone, a pain with the blackberry so here is a link to the user guide:
